I believe that the intricacies of life are best expressed through simplicity. With this in mind, I draw repeated parallel lines. I try to empty my mind and to draw lines without attaching meaning or significance to them. Yet my drawings subconsciously grow from my observation of everything around me. The result is that my drawings depict the interstitial part of matter, the space that is simultaneously both a void and a plenum.
My mind makes associations while viewing finished drawings. These associations form the basis of the titles, which may or may not lead viewers to similar associations. I want to give viewers a space in which they may open and empty their minds, a space where they may slow down from the outside world and in which they can simply be.
My statements above are inherently contradictory and inconsistent. This is the subject of my art.
